Kelly Ewalt, LCPC

"Children from all parts of the world use play to express themselves. They use toys as their words and play as their language."
- Garry Landreth

For the past 20 years Kelly Ewalt has been a licensed counselor working with children, families, and adults. She has worked in a variety of settings, including mental health centers, residential treatment for children, and schools. She has been in private practice for the past 5 years. Kelly has a Master's Degree in Applied Psychology from Eastern Washington University and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Montana. In addition, she obtained a school counseling endorsement from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Kelly has received training in play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). She is currently pursuing endorsement as a Nationally Registered Play Therapist and as a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor.

Throughout counseling Kelly uses a developmental perspective. No matter what our age, we experience life changes and new challenges. Sometimes these changes and challenges can be overwhelming. At these times counseling can provide hope, healing and direction in one's life. Kelly works with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, divorce, childhood defiance, ADHD, and parenting.

On a personal level, Kelly enjoys taking care of her many animals and she is learning to horseback ride. She loves spending time in the outdoors with her husband and son. She considers her most valuable training to be her marriage of 14 years and parenting her son.
